I really don't get it - the reason for CBCP's firm opposition to the RH Bill. I mean, yes, I understand that it's because of the abortion, killing people who are supposed to be born, and some other stuff that only the church holds holy and sacred today.
Sorry, I don't mean to be sacrilegious or anything, but really, do you think that the RH Bill intends to kill babies which are supposed to be born? The RH Bill only states the use of contraceptives, and not some medicinal procedure which will kill a fetus that's already inside the mother's womb. Contraceptives only help prevent pregnancies, they don't stop pregnancies that's already on their way. Now tell me this, how can you kill something that's not even created yet? That's the point. It's only wrong if there's already a developing embryo inside the womb and you kill it.
Abortion, I agree, should never be legalized. But the RH Bill does nothing to legalize it. Have you ever read the whole RH Bill?
Have you ever walked the streets of Manila and just looked around? What did you see? There are so many people on the streets, begging for money. And did you happen to note that usually, they are families? Yes, a mother with her three (or more) children. If the pregnancy of her two children were prevented even before the actual intercourse of the couple, then they could've afforded their child's basic needs and they did not need to beg on the streets for money anymore.
I know, I know. There are more ways to solve this problem and the last resort should be the RH Bill. But for us Filipinos who couldn't be more hardheaded as any nationality in the world, we need something which would make us follow it, not just something we could compromise and work around with.
Now I would cease to support the RH Bill only if you (the leftists of the RH Bill) sign a contract or make a pact that you would be the one to shoulder all the needs of the current less fortunate of our country and the future ones. And that, that's one way to solve this.
I know I may not have a voice in this world yet, but still, I am entitled to my own opinion, right? I can say whatever I can because it's free to think and to express what we think. Sorry if this post may have been offensive for some but it pays to be educated enough of both sides before taking one.
PS: BASTA. PRO-RH BILL AKO. ANTI- KA MAN OR WHAT. ANDYAN NA UNG REASONS KO AND THEY SEEM VALID ENOUGH. IF YOU HAVE ANY VIOLENT REACTIONS, PLEASE CONTACT ME AS SOON AS YOU CAN. Thanks:)
